Helping Future Aggies
The Avants recently made a bequest that someday will establish multiple awards, including a prestigious President's Endowed Scholarship to benefit Aggies studying biological and agricultural engineering. The inspiration behind their gift dates back nearly three decades to the couple's own days at Texas A&M.SHARON: We included Texas A&M in our will and we also participate in the College of Agriculture Development Council, which is an excellent way to support this university.
BOB: Aggies love the university, and they like to give back what they have been given. I think it's only appropriate to give back so young people can have those experiences themselves."
SHARON: With our gift, future Aggies may perhaps have the opportunity to experience the traditions, education and associations that we experienced at Texas A&M, and which we hold so dear.
SHARON: The Texas A&M Foundation staff in the Office of Gift Planning and those associated with the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences have a great deal of expertise and flexibility to design a gifting plan that works for each situation. The Foundation staff is professional and excited about working with Aggies and their advisors who are developing a gifting plan.
